CORHealth – General Data Protection Regulation Overview

Common law of confidentiality and consent

Health professionals have a responsibility to comply with the common law of confidentiality which means that you have a right to withdraw your consent for us to share information about your health to your employer at any point of time. If you choose to do this, we must notify your employer who may need to make decisions without the benefit of impartial Occupational Health advice.  If your job involves a requirement for routine fitness to work, medical or health surveillance screening, then your employer may have to stop you from doing your job.

We’ll also ask for information to verify your identity, so that we make sure we protect all your information.  The lawful basis that we rely on is Article 6 (1) (c) of the UK GDPR, which relates to our  obligation to comply with the law.  We’ll only keep verification information for as long as it is necessary to process your request. We stand by the highest standards when it comes to processing your personal information.  If you have any questions about your personal information, or how we use it, you may contact us at [email protected]
